This is a Pecos diamond, a quartz crystal from New Mexico from the Seven Rivers Formation (Permian) along the Pecos River valley. It reminded me of another precious stone missed by many people. The shape reminds me of the cross where Jesus died that we can have life. The red color reminds me of the blood shed on that cross. “What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus”
